A Port Angeles woman was injured Monday in a U.S. Highway 101 crash near Sequim Bay State Park when the motorcycle she was riding crossed the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle, Washington State Patrol officials reported.
Karen R. Johannes, 41, was stable and undergoing surgery late Monday afternoon at Olympic Medical Center, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The State Patrol reported that her 2002 Harley-Davidson XL12000 collided with a 1996 Chevrolet driven by Ronald Lee Durham, 72, of Clatskanie, Ore.
Debris from Johannes’ motorcycle hit a second eastbound motorcycle, a Kawasaki KL650A driven by Stephen Lee Barker, 57, of Coupeville.
Durham was not injured. Barker received minor injuries but wasn’t hospitalized, the State Patrol said.
