PORT ANGELES — Now playing at a theater near you: the Elwha Dam.
Well, maybe not the whole dam, but enough that moviegoers at Deer Park Cinema on Friday night said the site of the climactic scene in Paramount Pictures’ “The Hunted” looked familiar.
“I think I recognized it,” 18-year-old Stacy Gedelman of Joyce said as she and friend Lori Shafer, 19, also of Joyce, exited the theater.
Alysia Forshaw, 25, a cashier at the cinema, said the green, moss-draped trees around the dam were more recognizable than the water rushing through the cracks of the aging structure.
“I don’t think I’ve been to that part of the Elwha, but you can tell it’s definitely from our woods,” she said.
The movie that was partially filmed at the dam, west of Port Angeles a year ago, opened to mixed reviews this weekend in theaters around the country — including Deer Park Cinemas.
