PORT ANGELES — Ferry service between the North Olympic Peninsula and Victoria could be disrupted for two months in early 2004.
That’s when two new engines will be installed on the Black Ball Transport’s MV Coho ferry, according to General Manager Wayne Barrett.
The international car and passenger ferry is normally out of service for about two weeks early each year for maintenance.
Next year’s service outage will last from Jan. 11 through March 10, or almost nine weeks, he said.
Victoria Express ferry service owner Jack Harmon said Monday he was working with Black Ball Transport and others in the community to see what arrangements can be made during the Coho’s service outage.
The Victoria Express offers passenger-only ferry service between Port Angeles and Victoria during the summer months.
