PORT ANGELES –Officials say it is possible to move a U.S. Navy dry dock from Portland, Ore., to the Port of Port Angeles.
But they have yet to conclude if it is feasible.
Port Deputy Director David Hagiwara said information released in a “preparatory analysis” shows the venture to be both time consuming and costly.
Port commissioners are studying the possible acquisition of the 56-year-old U.S. Navy dry dock from the freshwater Willamette River shipyard.
