PORT ANGELES — About 15 neighbors of the proposed Lincoln Park location for a new swimming pool and indoor sports complex voiced their concerns to city officials Wednesday night.
Increased wind once nearby trees are removed, noise, flooding, increased traffic and lower property values were among the concerns expressed by neighbors during the meeting.
City Councilman Gary Braun proposed in December 2002 that a new swimming pool and an ice skating arena could be located on city-owned land at Lincoln Park, perhaps along with indoor soccer and tennis facilities.
The proposed location is north of 18th Street between I Street and M Street. The sports facility would be west of the swimming pool, closer to M Street. Parking would be next to fairgrounds parking.
