PORT ANGELES — The Kalakala Alliance Foundation has leased an office downtown near where owner Steve Rodrigues hopes to moor the 1935 art-deco ferry.
Port Angeles resident Cherie Kidd, who Rodrigues recently hired as foundation president, said Wednesday that she and Rodrigues saw the vacant space at 122 N. Lincoln St., Suite 104, and knew it was the right location.
“It has visibility, it’s downtown and on the waterfront, and you can actually see the intended location of Kalakala from the office,” Kidd said of space in the Harbortown Mall near the intersection of Railroad Avenue and near the Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce visitors’ center.
