PORT ANGELES — Olympic Medical Center commissioners will meet in a closed session Wednesday to discuss real estate.
A closed session also preceded their Oct. 26 meeting, and Jim Leskinovitch, commission chairman, said they discussed the pending sale of Virginia Mason Medical Center’s clinic at 433 E. Eighth St.
Virginia Mason announced Sept. 28 that it would sell the clinic because it had not proved financially viable, according to Patti Crome, senior vice president and clinic administrator.
Public governing bodies such as OMC’s board may exclude the public from a meeting where they will discuss purchase, sale or lease of real estate when public knowledge might put the agency at an economic disadvantage, according to the Revised Code of Washington.
Following last week’s meeting, both Leskinovitch and hospital CEO Mike Glenn said it was premature to conclude that Olympic Medical Center would buy the Virginia Mason Clinic.
