PORT ANGELES — The curb and gutter phase of the week-old Peabody Street paving project will continue through this week, City Engineer Eric Walrath said.
The phase includes installing curbs, gutters, sidewalks, curb ramps and drainage items such stormwater catch basins, he said.
Then the pavement grinding phase will begin possibly late in the week or early next week, Walrath said.
The project’s next phase will be the paving itself, followed by the lane striping and crosswalks, he said.
The public will be notified about two days before the pavement grinding begins, although the biggest disturbance will come from the paving itself, Walrath said.
The construction zone runs from First to Fifth streets, and will remove a pesky bump near Peabody Creek, city officials have said.
