PORT ANGELES — An Agnew resident with 35 years of health-care management experience in nursing was hired Monday night as Clallam County Humane Society’s new executive director.
The society’s board selected Paula Creasey, who for the past four years has worked for Virginia Mason Clinic in Sequim after a long career with Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
“She has been active with the animal rescue effort,” most recently with the Welfare for Animals Group, said Humane Society board president John Miles.
“She has a lot of strong leadership skills,” he said, and came out on top of 15 people interviewed for the position, which has been vacant for three years.
Miles, who declined to reveal her salary agreed on during a private meeting before her hiring, said she would paid within a $20,000-$40,000 annual salary range.
This is comparable to other nonprofit organizations’ pay in the state, he said.
She will supervise eight employees.
