PORT ANGELES — “Fountain of Magic,”‘ sculpted from sand by Meredith Corson of Treasure Island, Fla., on Sunday captured the People’s Choice Award at the Arts in Action festival at City Pier.
Festival goers voted with “Sand Dollars” they bought to support projects of Northwest Rotary Club.
Corson will receive $750 and an invitation to next year’s show, said Doc Reiss of Nor’Wester Rotary, which organized the event.
“Fountain of Magic,” which features a wizard holding a book of spells, rain cascading from his staff, was sponsored by Peninsula Daily News.
At the Street Rod Car Show, also at City Pier, a 1968 Camaro restored by Chad Springfield of Port Angeles won the People’s Choice trophy.
