PORT ANGELES — The city is accepting applications for a second vacancy on the Planning Commission.
Current Planning Commissioner Kevin Snyder announced at the board’s Dec. 28 meeting that he would be moving out of the area later this year.
He said he wanted to announce his impending departure now so the City Council could fill both vacancies at once, Snyder said.
The first vacancy was created when Betsy Wharton was elected to the City Council during the Nov. 8 general election. She defeated incumbent Richard Headrick, who had been serving as mayor.
Wharton will be sworn into office by Judge George Wood at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.
