The Port Angeles Planning Commission will likely not address tonight the issue of the Saturday Farmers Market and Planning Commission member Cherie Kidd’s participation in a Port Angeles Business Association meeting.
Planning Commission Chairman Len Rasmussen said Tuesday night there was a “60 percent chance” the commission will have to wait until its Oct. 26 meeting to decide whether Kidd had ex parte communication before voting on the farmers market.
The Port Angeles City Council kicked the issue back to the Planning Commission on Friday, saying Kidd might have violated the state appearance of fairness doctrine.
Rasmussen said if the Planning Commission decides there was no violation, the farmers market issue will remain at the City Council level.
The Planning Commission meets at 6 p.m. today in the Port Angeles City Council chambers, 321 E. Fifth St.
