PORT ANGELES — Platypus Marine, Inc., officials confirmed Monday that the company is expanding, prompting another marine construction firm to move its operation.
Kevin Blake, financial marketing manager for Platypus, said his company hopes to occupy the entire building it currently leases from Admiral Marine Construction by September.
Admiral occupies half of the building, located at 102 N. Cedar St.
The announcement was made during a Port Angeles of Commerce meeting Monday at the CrabHouse restaurant.
Blake said the company currently employs between 35 and 50 people, based on yacht building and repairs needs.
