Port Angeles police seek man wanted for investigation of felony domestic abuse

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles police are seeking a 38-year old man after they converged on a home on Caroline Street in response to a call for help this afternoon.

Dale J. Purser of Port Angeles is wanted for investigation of felony domestic violence, said Deputy Police Chief Brian Smith.

Purser is 6-feet-tall and weighs 170 pounds. He has brown hair and eyes.

An unidentified woman called the 9-1-1 emergency dispatch center at about 3 p.m. saying she had been seriously assaulted and that children had been threatened, Smith said.

Police arrived at a home in the 1300 block of Caroline Street and set up blockades.

Caroline Street was closed from Jones Street to Ennis Street. Liberty Street was closed going north from Georgiana.

The children were found safe at another location, Smith said.

The Clallam County Emergency Management incident response vehicle was on scene this afternoon.

Port Angeles police were assisted by Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies, Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team members and U.S. Border Patrol agents.

It is not known if Purser has a vehicle, Smith said.

Smith said that anyone who sees Purser should not attempt to detain or contact him, but instead should phone 9-1-1.
