PORT ANGELES — The Police Department will recruit business owners, community leaders, residents and elected officials to attend “community oriented policing” training in late April.
The training is a result of an federally funded assessment study of the Port Angeles Police Department conducted 10 months ago.
The assessment report itself will be revealed at a 2 p.m. news conference Friday at City Hall.
In the meantime, police officials are formulating a plan based on the federal Justice Department program called Community Oriented Policing Services, or COPS.
