PORT ANGELES — A prominent business group has sent a letter to Port of Port Angeles commissioners asking them to rescind the controversial selection of Clyde Boddy as the new executive director. The job of Port director is too important to be a part-time job, the letter from the Port Angeles Business Association says.
As of Jan. 1, Boddy, who had been the full-time interim director for the last year, will receive $94,800 per year for 120 hours of work per month, an average of 28 hours per week.
The part-time arrangement was done to protect a state pension Boddy receives for working as a Port employee from 1969 to 1998. Working full-time cancels the pension.
