PORT ANGELES — Port commissioners unanimously voted Monday to extend Executive Director Clyde Boddy’s contract until next August.
It will be Boddy’s final contract with the Port of Port Angeles.
Recent changes in state pension rules — and Boddy’s own desire to finally retire after more than three decades with the Port — means it will be the last contract extension.
The vote Monday was 2-0 because Commissioner Glenn Beckman of Forks was absent.
And the Port has already begun preliminary work toward finding Boddy’s successor.
Commissioner Bill Hannan of Sequim said he and incoming Commissioner John Calhoun of Forks have spoken with two consultants about conducting an executive director search in 2004.
