Port Angeles: Project critic calls proposed marina a “monstrosity”

The Elwha marina project in Port Angeles isn’t without criticism.

Dick Goin is an author and expert on the fisheries in Olympic National Park and off the North Olympic Peninsula.

He has served on the Technical Advisory Group of the Governor’s Salmon Review Program and been chairman of Olympic Park Associates’ fisheries committee.

Goin said he began discussing the project’s potential impact on fisheries with Smith when he first heard about it in 2001.

Goin calls the project a “monstrosity.”
