PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles School District board and district officials will field questions and comments about proposed school closures at a community forum Thursday.
The School Board on Monday night announced that the controversial proposals of a district task force to save about $300,000 will be discussed, and the public will have the opportunity to sound off and ask questions.
No action will be taken by the board during the three-hour meeting in the Port Angeles High School library, 304 E. Park Ave.
The meeting will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Facilities Efficiency Task Force will outline its proposals, which includes a plan for fixing Franklin and possibly other elementary schools.
Board President Charlie McClain said Monday that the forum will allow him and his board colleagues to collect information to aid their eventual decision.
“We want to get people off the pins and needles as soon as possible,” McClain said.
