PORT ANGELES — A proposed yacht marina on Ediz Hook could have a total economic impact of up to $41.3 million, including retail sales, direct jobs and indirect jobs, an economic analysis says.
The figure includes yachters’ expenditures of up to $31.6 million, as many as 147 new jobs totaling $5.1 million in payroll, and as many as 184 indirect jobs adding $4.6 million to payrolls.
The economic analysis was prepared for the city of Port Angeles by E.D. Hovee & Co. of Vancouver, Wash.
The proposed $7 million Elwha Landing Cultural Center and Yacht Marina would parallel Ediz Hook Road for 1,667 feet, with parking for the marina and a cultural center-museum.
The marina on the harbor side of the Hook would have as many as 57 covered moorage slips or boathouses for yachts between 80 feet and 120 feet long.
