PORT ANGELES — The public can comment until April 5 on two of three work plans for the former Rayonier pulp mill site.
That’s the word from Dana Dolloff, director of environmental affairs for Rayonier Inc.
The two plans are for the sampling of marine life around the dock and harbor and for interim clean-up actions at the mill site off Ennis Street.
The cleanup effort will focus primarily on oil that leaked years ago, Dolloff said.
The company conducted a partial cleanup while the mill was running, but couldn’t complete until the job until the mill was out of the way, he said.
Dolloff said the third work plan that isn’t available for public comment yet is the sampling of the mill site itself.
