PORT ANGELES –Barring significant and unexpected public comments, Rayonier Inc. and state Department of Ecology officials say they are on schedule for beginning the next steps of the cleanup process at a former pulp mill.
During a two-hour public meeting Wednesday, officials updated the about 30 people on the Proposed Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study Work Plan.
Officials are on the fourth step of the seven-step plan to cleanup the mill site at 700 N. Ennis St.
The public can comment on Rayonier’s work plan to help direct an investigation into and identify cleanup alternatives for the upland portion of the mill site until May 7 by mail, fax or e-mail.
