PORT ANGELES — Katrin Goudie is the grand-prize winner in the Port Angeles Realtors Association’s “What My Home Means to Me” contest.
Katrin was one of 250 third-grade students who participated in the 27th annual contest.
The association gave ribbons, certificates and a $40 gift certificate to the students who wrote the top three essays at a reception Thursday at the Lower Elwha Klallam tribe’s Heritage Center.
Kirra Massingham took second place, and Haley Pressley took third.
Students from Dry Creek, Franklin, Hamilton, and Roosevelt elementary schools participated.
Also at the reception, the association awarded $1,000 scholarships to Port Angeles High School students Magda Pendergrass, Tavish Casey and Haley Pearce.
