PORT ANGELES — Three schools went into lockdown status after two citizens reported seeing a man carrying rifles near two of the schools Monday morning.
Nobody was found as authorities scoured streets and alleys throughout the area.
Officials at Stevens Middle School, Choice Alternative School and Hamilton Elementary School locked their doors after two people reported seeing a young man carrying two rifles in the vicinity of Stevens and Choice.
Port Angeles Police Cpl. Jack Lowell said two separate calls came into the dispatch center between 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m.
