PORT ANGELES — A local man was killed and a second was treated for minor hypothermia Saturday following a boating incident near the tip of Ediz Hook.
The name of the 75-year-old man who died is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
But authorities identified the man treated for hypothermia as 51-year-old Bill Roberds of Port Angeles.
Roberds was treated at Olympic Medical Center, 939 Caroline St., and released after trying to save the man who died.
Roberds declined to comment on his ordeal, except to call the incident a “tragic accident.”
