PORT ANGELES — Families of teenagers will have to ante up next year if they want their middle and high school students to participate in athletics or other extracurricular activities.
The School Board implemented a pay-to-play policy Monday night as part of its package of $617,242 in budget modifications.
The measure will raise an estimated $50,000, school officials say.
Under the proposal, all middle and high school athletes and students participating in other extracurricular activities would be charged a one-time $25 activity fee and a $25 fee per season of participation.
