PORT ANGELES — Martin Brewer of Shelton has been selected as the Port Angeles School Board’s choice for superintendent.
The School Board announced its choice Thursday at a meeting at Jefferson Elementary School.
If Brewer joins the staff, he is expected to begin July 1.
Public forums with four finalists were held earlier this week.
Other finalists were Chuck Lisk, assistant superintendent of teaching and learning at Port Angeles School District; Mary Templeton, human resource director of certified personnel at Spokane Public Schools; and Jared Hoadley, assistant superintendent of student services at Mead School District near Spokane.
Brewer is the superintendent of Pioneer School District in Shelton.
Current Port Angeles School Superintendent Marc Jackson announced last summer that he plans to retire on June 29.
Twelve candidates applied for the position.
