Port Angeles School Board holds a public work session tonight on how to cut almost $1.7 million in expenses to balance the district’s $34 million 2002-2003 budget.
A new list of proposals has been put together by Superintendent Gary Cohn and financial manager Jim Jones after it was learned last week that the school district’s deficit would grow from the previous $1 million deficit because of cutbacks in school funding mandated by the state Legislature.
The list of recommended cutbacks and other options will be discussed by the School Board beginning at 6 p.m. at the Central Service Building, 216 E. Fourth St.
