PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles School Board will consider a $155,000 contract for Marc Jackson, the board’s selection as the new district superintendent, when it meets at 7 p.m. Thursday at Franklin Elementary School, 2505 S. Washington St.
Jackson would replace Superintendent Jane Pryne, who is retiring at the end of this school year after five years at the helm of the largest school district on the North Olympic Peninsula.
If the board accepts the contract, Jackson would begin work July 1.
Pryne is paid $141,432 per year.
The proposed three-year contract includes 260 workdays per year, minus paid holidays and 30 paid vacation days.
It requires Jackson to live within 5 miles of district boundaries and provides a $4,000 moving stipend.
Jackson is currently superintendent of the Silver Valley Unified School District, east of Barstow, Calif.
