PORT ANGELES — Gary Cohn, Port Angeles School District superintendent, has accepted an offer for the superintendent’s position at the Everett School District.
Cohn’s acceptance is contingent on the Port Angles School Board releasing him from his contract, which runs through the 2010-2011 school year.
Cohn’s salary in Port Angeles was $138,658.50. The Everett contact has not been negotiated, although the 18,000-student school district has advertised a range of $190,000 to $210,000.
The 29-year educator said he was encouraged to apply by some of his mentors, who said Everett would be a good fit.
Cohn, 53, was one of 20 candidates considered by Everett schools.
The offer was made Thursday night, Cohn said, and he accepted.
