PORT ANGELES — For 212 Jefferson Elementary School students, the end of winter break Monday meant they could return to a newly renovated complex.
As students walked up the long exterior staircase of the Jefferson campus on Monday, many remarked how the school had changed.
“It looks so different,” said Shyanna Reyes, 10, to her mother, Birgit, and 7-year-old sister, Kyrie-Anne.
As the Reyes family made its way into the halls of the school at 218 E. 12th St., the family members commented on the new beige and blue tiles, the clean walls decorated with student artwork — and how the building layout had changed.
“The classrooms are much bigger than before,” Shyanna said. “There are more cupboards and everything is blue.
“It looks really good.”
