PORT ANGELES — A 17-year-old Port Angeles youth is in juvenile detention today, accused of shooting another teen-ager to death late Wednesday.
Timothy Patrick Smith is being held on $250,000 bail for allegedly killing Michael Andrew Sindars, 16, of Port Angeles.
Because the charge is a class A felony, Smith will automatically face trial as an adult, rather than as a juvenile.
Smith was arrested early Thursday morning after police responded to his mother’s house at 1616 W. 13th St. for a possible shooting death.
He appeared in Clallam County Superior Court on Thursday.
A second teen-ager — Brian Casey Hughes, 16, of Samara Drive — was also arrested in connection with the shooting.
Details appear in the Friday/Saturday edition of the Peninsula Daily News, on sale throughout Clallam and Jefferson counties. Click on “Subscribe” to get your copy delivered to your home or office.
