PORT ANGELES — The Nor’wester Rotary Club has received a $5,000 grant from the Tony Hawk Foundation to help pay off debt from building the Port Angeles Skate Park at Erickson Playfield.
But the service club still needs more money to pay off the new skate park, including having people who made pledges to send in their money.
“We have bills due and we’re trying to figure out a way to make ends meet,” said Nor’wester Rotary Club member Doc Reiss.
“The Tony Hawk Foundation sent a check for $5,000, which was sorely needed.
“Now we need people to send in their donations. We have about $30,000 in bills and we don’t have the money.”
The Nor’wester Rotary Club built the world-class skate park at Second and Race streets and continues raising money to pay off the debt.
