A suspected toxic chemical spill at a Lewis Road residence Monday prompted authorities to evacuate a home and call in state methamphetamine experts.
The resident of the home was arrested for possession of methamphetamine prior to the reported chemical spill.
Stacey Richards, 44, of 577 Lewis Road, was arrested in Port Angeles at about 3:30 p.m., said Sgt. Ron Cameron of the Clallam County Sheriff’s Department.
“She was arrested for the possession of methamphetamine earlier in the city of Port Angeles,” Cameron said.
Shortly after the arrest, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Department received a call someone in the garage of Richards’ home had spilled a potentially toxic chemical.
