PORT ANGELES –Dr. George Woodruff plans to resign as school superintendent at the end of the school year in June.
Woodruff, 56, who has led the Port Angeles School District since May 1995, said he would offer his resignation to the school board Monday.
He told school employees about his plans in “A Message from George”‘ e-mail that he sent Wednesday.
“I find myself at one of those times when a decision concerning balance of work, family, recreation, mind, body and spirit is mine to make,” Woodruff wrote.
“After much consideration, I have decided . . . to resign . . . This was not an easy decision . . . and the future for me is left in the hands of One far greater than myself.”
Woodruff has no plans to take another job or move from Port Angeles, he said in an interview.
