PORT ANGELES — When two classic World War II aircraft visit William R. Fairchild International Airport for three days beginning Monday, they also will be stars in a documentary about one of the war’s most famous missions.
The Collings Foundation’s Boeing B-17G “Flying Fortress” and Consolidated B-24J Liberator will be flying into Fairchild Airport on Monday morning as part of the nationwide Wings of Freedom tour, a West Coast project that salutes veterans and help younger generations understand more about their sacrifices.
