PORT ANGELES – A water main leak discovered Monday afternoon at the northwest corner of Front and Lincoln streets was fixed Monday night, and water service was restored to all businesses, said city spokeswoman Teresa Pierce on Tuesday.
No cost estimates for the repairs were available, she said.
Water service was shut off to businesses on that corner and along both sides of Lincoln Street from Front Street to First Street.
The leak appeared to be because of the pipe’s old age, Pierce said.
It was not cut during construction on the nearby Port Angeles International Gateway Transportation Center construction project.
The $13.8 million Gateway Center will include a transit building with a public plaza with a pavilion roof, clock tower and a bus lane plus the two-tiered parking garage.
It is being built along Lincoln Street between Railroad Avenue and Front Street.
