PORT ANGELES — A three-acre parcel of waterfront property east of the Red Lion Hotel has been offered to the owner of the Kalakala as a possible moorage site for the former state ferry.
Gerald Austin, who owns the property with Jack and Shirley Glaubert, confirmed Saturday that moorage space had been offered to the boat’s owner.
“There’s 400-plus feet of waterfront and the Kalakala is 275 feet long, so there’s plenty of space,” Austin said Saturday.
“We’re waiting for some action from the (Port Angeles) City Council,” said Jack Glaubert. “There’s a lot going on.”
