PORT ANGELES — A day after Westport Shipyard Inc. announced plans to build a new luxury yacht manufacturing facility in the Port of Port Angeles, the company was taking steps to begin the permitting process.
Port Executive Director Clyde Boddy said the company’s first steps Wednesday were to set up an escrow account and begin compiling data required for city building permits.
The Port agreed to sell the company three acres of land on the northeast corner of Marine Drive and Tumwater Street to build a $13 million, 60,000-square foot plant to manufacture $30 million, 164-foot luxury yachts.
