PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles woman was treated and discharged after she was extricated from her car that had hit several trees and come to rest in a ditch off U.S. Highway 101 at the Morse Creek curve.
Dawn L. Reagan Williams, 50, was traveling west on U.S. Highway 101 at 9 p.m. Friday when she failed to negotiate a curve, the State Patrol said.
The 2010 Ford she was driving crossed both eastbound lanes and struck a speed limit sign before it continued off the roadway without braking and entered the eastbound ditch where it hit several trees before stopping, the State Patrol said.
Williams was treated and discharged from Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles, a hospital spokesperson said.
Clallam 2 Fire & Rescue units dispatched to the one-car wreck extricated the driver from the car, which the State Patrol said was totally destroyed.
She was wearing her seat belt, troopers said, and no drugs or alcohol were involved.
She has been cited for second-degree negligent driving.
The scene was cleared at 11 p.m.
