PORT ANGELES — More than a dozen teaching positions will probably be eliminated in the Port Angeles School District next year.
But all schools, including Choice Alternative High School, will remain open under proposed budget cuts considered by the School Board on Tuesday.
A final list of cuts is expected at the board’s next meeting on Monday, at which directors are expected to take action.
“It’s not going to be pretty,” Jim Jones, the district’s chief financial officer, said Tuesday.
All but about $100,000 of the projected $1.7 million budget deficit for next school year was accounted for during Tuesday’s workshop.
