PORT ANGELES — Logs are again running through the North Olympic Peninsula’s most advanced sawmill after a two-week slowdown idled 20 workers.
“They’re running,” said John Ernst, Crown Pacific vice president of manufacturing at company headquarters in Gilchrist, Ore.
The company employs 89 in Port Angeles.
On April 25, logs stopped running through the Crown Pacific Partners LP mill on U.S. Highway 101, though the production of lumber continued in the drying kilns and planers until inventories ran out.
