PORT HADLOCK — Investigators say they have ruled out arson as the cause of a fire that left two families homeless last week.
“We haven’t been able to find anything that would suggest it’s an arson,” said Jefferson County Undersheriff Ken Sukert.
Sukert said investigators reached that decision Friday, after revisiting the scene at 50 Old Hadlock Road.
The early morning fire Dec. 30 destroyed a fourplex. Two of the units were unoccupied.
A spokesman for Jefferson County Fire Protection District No. 1 was unavailable for comment on the fire’s cause.
