PORT HADLOCK — Investigators believe a wheelchair-bound man was attacked here Thursday for his medical marijuana.
Justin R. Brown, 20, of Port Hadlock is in the Jefferson County jail, accused of beating 45-year-old Cleve Wall of Port Hadlock in order to obtain the drug.
Prosecutors have until Tuesday at 1 p.m. to file charges against Brown. If they do, the case will come up for review at 3 p.m. that day in Superior Court.
On Friday, Jefferson County Superior Court Judge Thomas Majhan ordered Brown jailed on a 72-hour hold in lieu of $20,000 cash-only bail, giving investigators time to develop a case against him.
As of Saturday, Brown was still listed in serious condition Saturday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, a hospital spokeswoman said.
He is improving and his condition should be upgraded to satisfactory soon, Susan Gregg-Hanson said.
