PORT HADLOCK – A 51-year-old man riding a motorized bicycle died Wednesday of injuries he sustained when the bike slammed into a piece of heavy construction equipment.
The Port Hadlock resident’s family members had not been notified as of Wednesday night, so his identity was not revealed by authorities.
He was pronounced dead at Jefferson Healthcare hospital shortly after the crash on Four Corners Road just before noon.
Aaron Goff, an employee with Port Townsend-based A Plus Equipment Rental, was driving a truck that was carrying an excavator into a driveway at 173 Four Corners Road.
He was turning the rig around to head back to work, he said.
Goff said he got out of the truck’s cab to look both ways on Four Corners Road to make sure the coast was clear because bushes blocked visibility from the cab.
