PORT HADLOCK — A man operating a Internet design company under a false name has been arrested by federal authorities on 21 counts of wire fraud.
Skipper Arnold, whose real name is Conrad Eugene Grohs, surrendered himself to the FBI in Seattle on Feb. 14, officials reported.
Grohs, 59, founded Mystery Bay Website Design LLC in Port Hadlock on July 1, according to state Department of Revenue records.
The company filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy Feb. 8, state records show.
It also began operating under the trade name M B Design earlier this year.
Grohs allegedly stole nearly $560,000 from women throughout the United States that he met through Internet chat rooms, FBI spokesmen said.
