PORT LUDLOW — Port Ludlow Fire and Rescue’s board of commissioners on Tuesday hired a new fire chief.
Ed Wilkerson, 48, who since Oct. 1 has been serving Jefferson County Fire Protection District No. 3 as interim fire chief, was promoted to the $70,000-plus-a-year fire chief job after the district board conducted a closed executive session and supported him unanimously.
He will oversee 10 firefighters and 30 volunteers.
