PORT LUDLOW — The finds — a teddy bear worth $2,000, a Navajo rug in the $2,000 to $3,000 range, and Irish silver candelabra valued at $15,000.
“I hated to blurt it out,”said Shirley Davies-Owens.
Davies-Owens was one of five antique dealers who came to Port Ludlow on Saturday to appraise treasures people brought from their homes and attics.
Sponsored by the local Community Enrichment Alliance, the event attracted 200 people to the Port Ludlow Bay Club.
“A lot of people went out smiling,” said Maureen Poole, head of the Alliance. “Some people that brought things in the morning went home and brought back more.”
Some just came to watch, while others paid $10 to have up to three items appraised.
