PORT LUDLOW — Property owners in the North Bay section will cast their ballots Feb. 5 in the first-time election of commissioners to a drainage district that was formed two years ago.
Two candidates have come forward to fill three commissioner posts up for grabs.
They include incumbent Richard Regan, who was appointed to the board when the district was created by Jefferson County commissioners in 2000.
Jim Laker is also making a bid for office.
The drainage district, created to fix longstanding flooding problems in the area, is set to begin a yearlong study next month that will map out specific drainage problems in the steep North Bay area.
