PORT TOWNSEND — Robin Ditzler of Port Ludlow is the newest member of the Centrum board of directors.
The arts center at Fort Worden State Park announced her election last week.
Ditzler will assist the board in its support of operations and activities, including fundraising, marketing, financial oversight and strategic planning, Centrum said.
“My goals for Centrum include helping to protect its future by expanding its fan and donor base here on the Peninsula and surrounding areas,” Ditzler said.
“I’d also like to explore how Centrum can make more connections with area businesses and community organizations to cross-promote the wonderful cultural and learning opportunities we share in this special place.”
After several years of systems planning and operations management at AT&T, Ditzler held various marketing management positions at Hewlett-Packard Co. and later joined Qualcomm Inc. as its director of corporate communications and then as its senior director of marketing.
She also served on the boards of two San Diego nonprofit arts organizations.
“We’re excited to have Robin join the Centrum board,” said Cindy Thayer, president of Centrum’s board.
“Her experience, enthusiasm and passion for the arts will help propel us toward a great season in 2012 and beyond.”
In 2006, Ditzler moved from Southern California to Port Ludlow, where she and her husband, Dave, reside most of the year.
Ditzler has worked part time as a marketing consultant, volunteered on projects for her church and for Centrum, and marketed and managed her family’s vacation rental properties.
“Immediately after we moved here, I made a call to Centrum to see how I could use my professional background and skills to help the organization,” Ditzler said.
“I’m proud to be connected to Centrum, and I look forward to serving in new ways as a member of the board.”
Ditzler holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of California at San Diego and has attended executive program training at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
